How to Connect to a Mediacom Router
Mediacom routers use DHCP -- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol -- to automatically configure every network device connected to them for always-on connections. DHCP is used to assign an internal IP address to network devices, which eliminates the need to set it up manually. DHCP is ideal for businesses and other setups with numerous networked devices. To connect to a Mediacom router directly to a computer, you will need an Ethernet cable; nothing extra is needed if you have a wireless setup.
Connect your Mediacom router to a power outlet and turn it on. Wait at least one minute for the router to turn on completely.
